One of the nice Indian restaurants in Tokyo. You will get Indian food taste in this restaurant. This curry restaurant is very near by to Tokyo Station. Usually not very crowded. I love dosa and chutney from this restaurant. It is bit expensive but you will get authentic Indian dosa taste. I love two or three curries of lunch set. Generally expensive on weekends and on holidays.
MoreUnfortunately two of the curries on the Meals set were cold and the vegetable curry full of bland frozen veggies. And with so many excellent South Indian curry shops around this area and with so many chefs working they really should do better.
MoreGreat authentic south indian food. Their fish curry and dosa are amazing !
Not bad at all. The Dosa was nice. Ambiance a little questionable.
Honest flavours!
Courteous staff and decent food. Please note that closing time is 9 pm and not 10 pm as Google indicates.
MoreFood was ok. I had ordered a veg set with poori. It came with a single poori which was very very thick . Rice ,Rasam sambar were offered for second helping too. My friends ordered a non veg set which came with a fish fry . It was very cold . The manager did agree that it's all fried before time . It was a real put off. The other Dish we ordered was Masala dosa , which was sososo.....The person who served us was very polite and courteous than the person who initially took our order. We avoided that guy for further orders too during our course.
MoreVery good food! Some of the most best South Indian dishes are available here. Gets crowded even in weekday evenings.
MoreIndian food. Biriyani available. But on the expensive side.
Delicious indian cuisine
Very good restaurant and helpful staff and fast service also...!!
As authentic as you can get to South Indian food in Tokyo! Nice ambience, wide selection - both veg and non-veg and commendable service! Highly recommended!
MoreDakshin is a short walk from Kyobashi Sta. / Kyobashi Edogrand. Love its keema curry with pratha, masala dosa, and papadam.
MoreAmzing food and good people
Best vegeterian food I got to have in Tokyo. The staff are pretty nice and they made sure to take the interests like spice level, taste into consideration and food is totally awesome. I definitely suggest this to others.
MoreSlightly costly .... But a beautiful ambiance and the real taste of south indian food ... Staffs are also very nice
MoreWaiters here wear traditional South Indian lungi! You will find good amount of options to choose in Indian menu but food is okaish.
MoreFood is okay. But Nirvanam is way better.
Good south Indian restaurant... Crowded during lunch so plan accordingly...
We had lunch today here ( 17th August 2019). We ( 6 adults and 2 kids) went ~ 12:00 PM. There were no many customers in the restaurant. The restaurant was nicely designed. I ordered the Masala Dosa set. It was served with coconut chutney, sambar, lemon rice and fried chicken. I enjoyed the dish. Coconut chutney is the best side dish among all other dishes. It has a unique taste compare to the other south Indian restaurants in Japan. Some of my friends ordered mutton biryani. I also tasted it. It is also good. My feeling is that mutton biryani dish is big for one person. There was nice lady waiter there. She served food and she was very friendly.
MoreVisited Dakshin on weekday evening about 9pm and it was almost full. Great staff, always attentive and fast service. I looked male staff Lungi and clean. Good to talk. Very unique serving of chai and I could see almost every table ordered it. Eat vadas and it was good but felt missing some achar or spicy chatney, it was served with white coconut chatnaey which was good. Ordered chicken curry south style and it was the best I ever eat South curry. There is another very famous restaurant nearby but maybe overrated vs Dakshin. If I want to visit again around here. I may Choi’s Dakshin!
MoreExcellent India. food's good. taste super service. I enjoyed
Good authentic south Indian fare. But a bit on pricier side. They served warm water in winter which pleasantly surprised us
MoreGood Food, I suggest if you are looking for Indian food
One of the few indian restaurants in the Tokyo region. Serves decent indian food.
MoreWe went there few times. Food taste and quality on top notch. Price is very costly. They provide mainly South Indian foods.
MoreThe worst Indian restaurant in Tokyo I have ever been to. Food is unhygienic, dirty utensils. A little overpriced. Usually they serve you Japanese rice, but will ask if you want Basmati rice and have to pay 250 yen extra for that, however you will get ordinary Indian rice. Though they have plenty of staffs and service was quick.
MoreVery strong first impression justifying four stars, notwithstanding the outstanding place that's close by. Larger than expected with fast friendly service from India. Also better lighting and a good Wi-Fi connection. I found the lunch menu slightly confusing, but went with the three-curry set. All three were good, but especially the vegetable curry. The naan was fluffy and delicious, but slightly uneven. If you want to have a talk with a friend over lunch, this place seems better. I admit I was actually looking for reasons why the other nearby place seems to have a stronger reputation, but I couldn't find any. In conclusion I have to raise my rating to a strong 4 stars. Both places are strong candidates for five stars.
MoreGood food with lots of choices. Closes in evening by 10 pm.
Awesome food and nice and clean place
Eccentric southern Indian cuisine with great atmosphere.
Good food.
1. Ambience ok. If groups come, it can be noisy.2. Food taste bad. Will not be like if you have tasted good Indian food already. Vegetables were not cooked properly.3. Cost is on higher side like other Indian restaurants in that area4. Credit card payment for lesser bill amount is not accepted. If needed then need to shell out extra some % as credit card service/tax charge. So be sure to carry JPY5. Not worth the money if you are expecting authentic Indian style food.
MoreFood is authentic and excellent, ambience good. Lil pricey.
Authentic South Indian food!
Excellent staff and yummy dosas. The place is quite busy so best to book to avoid disappointment
MoreQuality South Indian food, nice ambience, friendly staff, very much accessible from Tokyo station
MoreA really delicious authentic South Indian dish.. Tastes so good.. South Indian food taste in Japan..
MoreFeels like home food..Indian style. tasty
Wow. Awesome south Indian food. Liked the nan and chettinad chicken.
Tasty authentic South Indian cuisine. Little pricy though. Understandable for the quality of food
MoreTypical Indian food. Good food but the service is terrible. The waiter is extremely rude.
MoreSome of the best Indian food I have ever had! The main dish could have been a bit hotter, but otherwise super-delicious! Really, a warm recommendation.
MoreNice ambience, excellent service. However, very ordinary run of the mill South Indian fare. Neither complaining nor praising.
MoreFood is tasty. But may not be great for people digestion sensitive people
Dosa sambhar was authentic. Indian Tea and coffee was stale. Staff is very friendly and hospitable. A bit pricey for the vegetarian options.
MoreA decent restaurant near Tokyo station, they dont accept credit card at lunch so go with some cash.
MoreWent for dinner. Good selection of South Indian food. Quality is good, food is scrumptious, and the service is friendly. Gets full marks for dinner. Haven't tried the lunch options, so cannot comment.
MoreFood was average. Our took a millennial to arrive. Please try out other options with better rating before coming here.
MoreVery nice south Indian food..... Sampar and basmati rice combination is awesome
